Horses help us to create better coping strategies

How about horses? ...

If you want to
feel peaceful and more alive than you ever have ... spend your time with a horse

If you want to create better coping strategies for your illness, for your life and gain greater inner strength and an enhanced sense of who you are and what you want ... spend your time with a horse

To metaphorically 'run with horses' addresses some deep archaic need in us as women. Stand next to a horse and find your peace

How about you?
How do you deal with cancer? None of us know until it happens. Most people get on with it, and find a tremendous amount of support during treatment from the hospital, cancer support nurses and other care providers and from family and friends. However, what most women say is that they feel lost when they are sent home in remission. What happens then? Everyone thinks you are ok, that you are 'cured' but how do you feel?

At a time when you need to find the inner strength to go forward, you might, like many cancer survivors, be struggling. Horses seem to know what we need and, on a deep level, help us to move forward to embrace our lives by responding to us with gentleness, playfulness and joy.

A horse can get you back in touch with nature and with your 'self' connecting with who you truly are.

Someone once said to me, 'When you are around your horses, nothing else exists'. and I realise that this appears to be true when most women are near a horse. I don't fully know why, although I have some theories.

How about this programme?
I have had this idea to help women cancer survivors for a few years. But my passion increased after I lost my dad with cancer of the oesophagus in June 2008. The period of reflection that followed made me realise that I wanted to help others to thrive not just survive.

This programme provides:-

The horse programme
Healthy Steps movement & dance therapy using The Lebed Method - see 'about me' page
Laughter therapy - as from October 2009
