Horses
are tactile social animals. They form strong bonds with their
own friends, and they can and do equally form amazing relationships
with us. They respond to touch, and will offer affection and
loyalty if we treat them with respect. The wonderful thing
about this work is that a single horse can give each individual
person such a uniquely different experience, ensuring that
your experience will always be personal to you.
Cancer might have taken away the sense of order in your life.
It can represent a point when you realise that you don't actually
have that much control over anything. But when a 1000lb horse
moves willingly wherever you want, of follows you without
any ropes or harnesses or touches your face with his soft
lips, then you will gain a sense of your own inner power,
and a belief sense that you can take back some order
just by being you.
The
horse still has behaviour that is rooted deep in history,
and that somehow unfolds a sense of archaic oneness that we
have mostly lost in today's modern world. My own three horses
have been my greatest teachers, often giving me heartache
and joy in the same breath! My 28 year old horse Jack [on
the left] has been with me for 21 years and is my guiding
light in my own personal development.

You
are not defined by your illness.
Horses respond to what
you are not who {your
identity - work, social standing, mother, daughter etc}
you are.
Horses are sensitive and deeply intuitive animals. As a prey
animal, they have natural heightened awareness of the 'energy'
of a predator. What this means is that they are tuned in to
your feelings and thoughts rather than your behaviour, so they
will respond to what is happening to
you at a deeper level. |
