How
about you?
How do you deal with cancer? None of us know until it
happens. Most people get on with it, and find a tremendous
amount of support during treatment from the hospital,
cancer support nurses and other care providers and from
family and friends. However, what most women say is
that they feel lost when they are sent home in remission.
What happens then? Everyone thinks you are ok, that
you are 'cured' but how do you feel?
At a time when you need to find the inner strength to
go forward, you might, like many cancer survivors, be
struggling. Horses seem to know what we need and, on
a deep level, help us to move forward to embrace our
lives by responding to us with gentleness, playfulness
and joy.
A
horse can get you back in touch with nature and with
your 'self' connecting with who you truly are.
Someone once said to me, 'When you are around your
horses, nothing else exists'. and I realise that
this appears to be true when most women are near a horse.
I don't fully know why, although I have some theories.
